Black Women Shining is a restorative convening curated specifically to provide Black women with a moment of respite and reclaiming of power. We exist because despite the fact that Black women have an irrefutable history of winning elections, building business empires, and being silent sustainers of our spiritual institutions, in recent months, more than 300,000 Black women have been deliberately and disproportionately pushed out of their jobs. The result: an economic and social shift that has disproportionately impacted Black women’s professional stability, leadership presence, and mental wellbeing.

Profoundly concerned, Black Women Shining was conceived by a 25-year serial entrepreneur who has trained, coached, and inspired women for over 35 years. Not only do we empathize with Black women who have been blindsided by the unfair, unjust, and unacceptable treatment of this current administration. We stand in solidarity them as they pivot, rebuild, and regain their footing. We believe firmly that for everything Black women have given, they too deserve support, honor, investment, nurturing, inspiration, noticing, and grace.

Our convenings, therefore, are an offering. They are an invitation to be in community surrounded by love, hope, joy. They are a space where Black women are reminded anew of their power, their agency, and their right to keep shining. In addition to a featured guest, our convenings consist of incredible women whose faith, work, and overall journey embody the pride, practices, and purposefulness we desire every woman to claim or reclaim for herself.
